Album

I Wanna Be Your Man is a LennonMcCartney-penned song recorded and released as a single by the Rolling Stones, and then recorded by the Beatles. The song was primarily written by Paul McCartney, and finished by Lennon and McCartney in the corner of a room while Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were talking. Released as their second single on 1 November 1963, the Stones' version was an early hit, peaking at number 12 on the British chart. Their rendition features Brian Jones' distinctive slide guitar. And it was good enough to end up as the B-side of their first U. single, Not Fade Away, released in March of 1964. As for the U. single's B-side, Stoned, it was almost as important, though not in any way that was obvious at the time. Stoned was a slow blues that also featured the presence of sixth Rolling Stone Ian Stewart on the piano, and had Jagger's voice, sounding almost larger-than-life, pronouncing the words Stoned - out of my mind. 1964: British rock group the Rolling Stones, comprising drummer Charlie Watts, frontman Mick Jagger, guitarists Keith Richards and Brian Jones and bassist Bill Wyman. You expect a hot dose of bada-bing, what with David Chase, creator of HBOs groundbreaking crime drama The Sopranos, making his feature debut as a writer-director. Instead, Chase offers a gritty, graceful salute to rock & roll. Like Douglas John Magaro, his films protagonist, Chase grew up in suburban New Jersey in the 1960s playing covers of Buddy Holly and the Stones in his garage. Unlike Douglas, Chase never went farther than his garage. Copyright 2018 Rolling Stone, LLC, a subsidiary of Penske Business Media, LLC. Powered by VIP
