The Beatles' Seventh Christmas Record Recorded Fall 1969 in various locations Released to UK and US fan club members on December 19, 1969 Lyntone LYN 1970. English rock group the Beatles sent out spoken and musical messages on flexi disc to members of their official fan clubs in the United Kingdom UK and the United States US each Christmas from 1963 to 1969. An LP compilation of all seven, titled From Then to You in the UK and The Beatles' Christmas Album in the US, was sent out in 1970. Conceived as a means to appease fan-club members whose letters, due to their sheer volume, were not always being answered in a timely manner, the records included. P: I'd like to say that I hope everybody listening to this Has a very happy time at Christmas and has a good, Fortunate, lucky New Year. And a good time to be had by All. P: Singing Merry Christmas Mm, this is to wish you a me-merry, merry Christmas, This is to wish you a ha-ha-happy new year. J: How do you see your place in seventies to Come We've had the swinging sixties, and I was wondering, Mrs. Lennon, how you Saw your place in the seventies . The Beatles' Christmas Album U. aka From Then to You UK, was a 1970 compilation album of the Christmas records issued via the Beatles' Fan Club-and made available solely to members of their official fan clubs in the UK and the U. The Beatles' Christmas Album was issued as From Then to You in the UK by Apple Records LYN 2154 and in the U. SBC 100. In 2017, the flexi discs were remastered on vinyl in a box-set. The Beatles' Christmas records, as with the Beatles themselves, had begun dissipate by 1968. Paul McCartney offers a bucolic acoustic number, while John Lennon recites punny prose titled Jock and Yono and Once Upon a Pool Table, and it all neatly approximates their growing distance throughout the recording of the White Album. It's painfully obvious on the Beatles' seventh and final Christmas record together that they recorded all of their parts separately. Echoing John and Yoko's 1969 peace campaign, Happy Xmas War Is Over reached No. 4 in the U. in 1971. The Beatles Third Christmas Record 1965. The Beatles 1965 Christmas offering got off to a false start on October 19th, when the band convened at Londons Marquee Studios to create what they hoped would be a bold step forward in holiday greetings. Each Beatle recorded their part largely on their own, often at home, and handed the tapes to their friend, BBC Radio 1 DJ Kenny Everett. From 1963 until 1969 the Beatles put together single-sided flexi discs with a Christmas message that were distributed to their fan club members. All seven of these were included in a 12 LP and sent as a final farewell to members in 1970. Various bootlegs of that limited LP have been floating around for years, and with assorted outtake material and rehearsal chatter included, plus the complete acetate of Christmas Time Is Here Again, that is what has been assembled here in this festive boot from Yellow Dog Records.
