Monsters Exist is the ninth studio album by Orbital, released on 14 September 2018 through their own ACP label. Monsters Exist was one of several phrases which momentarily flashed on-screen during the video for Orbital's iconic 1996 single The Box. 22 years later, the brothers Hartnoll re-used the phrase as the title of their ninth studio album and first since reuniting for the second time. The monsters in question range from world leaders to personal demons, but Orbital don't tackle these subjects head on. As with much of their work, however, there's still a political and philosophical underpinning to these tracks. The Raid is a slow, tense creeper p. Overall, theres as much room for the head explodeGIF in Monsters Exist as there is in a WhatsApp group-chat post philosophy lecture. Read full review. Monsters Exist I was working on a documentary about animal weapons, antlers and poison and things like that, and then there's a bit where it says 'now, it's time for the worst animal of all,' and of course its the human being waving their nuclear missiles around as their big antlers. I stated working on that thing, and then slowly but surely the track Monsters Exist appeared. I just knew it was going to be a track for the album. Monsters Exist is out everywhere Friday, Sept. 14, but you can listen to it in full below, exclusively on Billboard Dance

Surprised nobody has made mention of this release yet. The packaging was in line with their In Sides cover but much darker. Nice ink sketches adorn the inner sleeves and labels. 2-black 180 gm disks for the release and 2-colored vinyl (magenta + blue) disks. I've been listening to it slowly. It's a lot to absorb. Some great new styled sonic passages mixed with classic Orbital beats/harmonics. it might be a grower. A few songs caught my attention and reminded me of the darker, experimental side of "Snivilisation and In Sides." Some felt like high energy festival anthems. We'll see.
