Notes

"An ERATO recording, released in Australia exclusively by World Record Club."

Subtitled (in the insert) "The French Organ: The Romantic and Symphonic Age", this is Part 5 of the 47-volume set. Recorded on the Grand Organ of the church of Saint-Eustache, Paris. Curiously, the track list exactly matches Fernando Germani's ‎"Organ Recital No. 2" on the same label (S/4835).

Australian WRC 2nd pressing, sourced from original stampers and featuring unique sleeve art. Previous sleeve artwork has been retained, with old cat # (S/4827) on the back, and new "R-00581" number on the disc label.

André Louis Marchal February 6, 1894 in Paris August 27, 1980 in Saint-Jean-de-Luz was a French organist and organ teacher. He was one of the great initiators of the twentieth-century organ revival in France. Marchal was born blind. Remarkably undaunted by this handicap, he studied the organ under Eugène Gigout at the Paris Conservatoire and there, in 1913, he won the First Prize in organ-playing. Four years later he also won the prix d'excellence for fugue and counterpoint. André Marchal's Album The Encyclopaedia Of The Organ, Volume Five.
